We study the structure, dynamics and interactions of biomolecules in
model systems. These systems can be seen as simplified, in vitro, versions
of the real biological systems, yet they capture some essential components
of the biological processes that they model. Our experiments are performed
on the single-molecule or single-complex level, using methods such as FRET
(Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer), Fluorescence lifetime, FCS (Fluorescence
Correlation Spectroscopy) and patch clamping.
