Immediately after Lands death, and in honour of his contributions, the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts,
decided to rename Commercial Avenue, home of the Rowland Institute, as The Edwin H. Land Boulevard. In Massachusetts,
Polaroid today employs more than 7000, including 2000 in Cambridge. Polaroids Chief Executive, I. MacAllister Booth, said Land
inspired everyone he worked with. He taught us new science, new industry and new ways of working, which together continue to
form the very foundations of Polaroid Corporation.
