The machine shop fabricates everything from the large ultra-high vacuum (UHV) to the very small-tailored components. The shop has two numerically-controlled milling machines, two lathes and various brakes, grinding machines, etc., all necessary to fulfill the most complex research requirements. A welding facility provides the capability to rapidly fabricate UHV components. The shop is lead by Don Rogers.
