Christina Daly earned her PhD from The University of Texas at Austin studying the molecular and genetic pathways involved in temperature-dependent sex determination in reptiles, under Dr. David Crews. She continued pursuing her fascination with evo-devo biology in post-doctoral research projects examining the development of the retina in both zebrafish (at UT Austin) and cephalopods (at Harvard). Considering the many millennia between them, comparison of the vertebrate and cephalopod eye provides striking patterns of convergent evolution.
Chris joined the Rowland Institute in 2025 as the Life Sciences Operations Manager and is involved in assisting the day-to-day research of the biological Fellows. She is excited to support their innovative research and welcomes the unique chance to keep learning across diverse fields of biology.
In her spare time, Chris is an accomplished violinist, avid gardener, and mother to twin daughters who keep her constantly on the go.
